Why Public Relations is Important for Franchise Sales

Why Public Relations is Important for Franchise Sales

As a franchise Public Relations Agency, we understand that businesses large and small want to increase their sales.  The emergence of social media has definitely helped small franchisors get the word out about their brand and communicate to their audience; however, social media is not enough to do the job.  We also know that it is great to build your customer base by with friends, family, or other people who would take an interest in your brand.  But again, even those personal connections will not build a base as large as social media or large enough to increase sales as drastically as many companies would like.

Realistically, the best way to increase your franchise sales is with the help of our Chicago PublicRelations Agency.  The responsibility of franchise public relations entails crafting the message of your franchise opportunity targeted at a variety of different publics, and it should also be an objective of the overall strategy of your franchise.  Our Chicago PR firm evaluates public attitudes, identifies policies and procedures or an individual or organization with the public interest and creates a PRcampaign and executes a program of action to earn public awareness, understanding and acceptance.  Our seasoned professional and franchise PRconsulting will line up the best publications and broadcasts with your target market.

Here are some tips on how to increase your franchise sales with our PR agency:
  1. You need to know your audience, customer, and market.  We assume that you know your audience considering you purchased your franchise, however, you need to stay in tune with trends and your geographic needs.
  2. Know your competition and how to market your product or service to appeal better than the rest.  If you cannot pin point your competition, we have a great hand in helping you narrow that down.
  3. Create as much awareness as possible about your brand and product/service.  The more you promote through PR campaigns, advertising campaigns, media, radio, direct mail or internet, the greater awareness your brand will have.  Society tends to trust the brands they hear more about.  We know you are busy, so let us reach our public relations agency. reach out to your surrounding media outlets.
  4. Create a loyalty program or something to keep your audience coming back for more and trusting your services.  If you don’t know what will keep them coming back, this PR agency does!
  5. What you do in short term effects the long-term.  Make wise decisions regardless of the time constraints.  We are experts in time-management and crisis communications, let us be your voice to avoid any communication mishaps.
  6. Lastly, be an expert on your services and similar serves.  The more knowledgeable you are, the more followers you will gain by trust alone.  We can help you gain trust and show you exactly why we are so trusted.

Becoming a Successful PR Agency

Everyone's definition of successful really is different.  For some people, running a successful PR agency means having the most clients.  For others, running a successful PR agency means that you are able to satisfy all clients.  As a Chicago PR firm ourselves, we work hard to create and meet our own definition of success.  No matter what your definition of success is, we can probably all agree that a majority of the tactics that make a PR firm successful are just about the same.  Here is our list of things we feel make a PR firm successful:

1- Outstanding leadership: Undoubtedly one of the most important factors that makes a PR agency successful is having outstanding leadership.  The leadership of the PR agency dictates a majority of the business practices.  If an agency is known as "corrupt" then odds are the leadership is also "corrupt".  Good leadership helps the rest of the PR firm make solid decisions and propels the rest of the agency forward at all times.

2- What your agency offers: What a PR agency can offer to clients is essential to the success factor of your agency.  A successful PR agency has a clear, defined and unique offer that draws clients in.  A successful agency has clear core values and ethics and is able to stand out from the crowd.  If your agency's current mission statement isn't what you want it to be, consider a rewrite.

3- Builds relationships with clients:  A good PR firm will successfully build solid business relationships with clients to gain trust and a better understanding of all clients.  Good PR firms understand that establishing relationships with clients is the key to success.

4- Solid business structures:  Both people and projects can be difficult to manage without a solid business structure in place.  A successful PR firm knows how important it is to put structure in place in order to get the job done and get it done right.  With a solid structure in place, people and projects are much easier to manage and those daily tasks are done in no time.

5- Positive attitude:  A successful PR agency has a can-do, go-getter attitude that helps them succeed.  A positive attitude starts with confidence.  A healthy dose of confidence helps set the foundation for a positive attitude, ushering in success.  As a PR firm, having the right attitude is exactly what your firm needs to put its best foot forward and attract the right kind of attention.

The Important Role of Public Relations

Experienced PR agencies have developed diverse techniques such as press releases, opinion polling, focus groups, social media management, national publicity and many more techniques that come together in order to publicly shape an organization into a well oiled PR machine. Truly effective Public relations agencies have good rapport with key news contacts which greatly increases the chances that stories will get covered more often and in greater detail. While some PR agencies only stick to larger corporate clients, smaller, more specialized companies also need to reap the benefits of using a Public Relations Company.

Public Relations Firms are effective in helping the following:
1. Assist Corporations in conveying information to the public about products and services.
2. Help Businesses and Individuals reach local government and legislators.
3. PR Agents in the political realm can help politicians attract votes, raise money and craft their public image.
4. Help non-profits, schools, religious organizations and other social service programs raise awareness, build support, fund-raise and increase patronage.

The field of Public Relations is so much larger than these four items though. Public Relations Firms should be involving themselves in several different outlets of business including: Franchise PR, Social Media Services, Grassroots Public Relations Campaigns, National Publicity, and even Media Training to assist business owners in effectively talking to media outlets.

Crisis Communications and Your Business: How to plan for the future

Chicago PR Agency & National Public Relations Firm

I agree with most when it comes to living in the now. Balance can be found if you go about life with your principles intact while living day to day and minute to minute.

However, when it comes to your business and crisis communications, you can't live for today. As a business owner, you are always living for the future, be it tomorrow, next year, or two minutes from now. Similar to other business strategies that you have to plan for, but different in so many ways because of the unknown. Crises are one of PR's great variables; you never know what may happen next.

How do you work today to plan for the unknown?
I broached this topic with a client of mine recently and we talked about many of the things we could do together to ensure that catastrophe wouldn't kill her business. She works for a business-to-consumer company with storefronts nationwide. She was concerned about how to effectively communicate with customers, the press and the general public if ever the need would arise in a crisis situation.

We first started talking about who the spokesperson would be, the protocol for internal communication, employee reactions and press statements. Then we turned to the cost-benefit ratio. How much would it take to effectively carryout a communications plan that covers all stakeholders and how would you quantify that with measurable results to come up with a return on the investment? All of these considerations must be taken in to account, along with the tactics to execute the crisis communications strategy.

One part of the discussion that really sticks out is when we got on to the topic of how social media plays a role in reputation management in times like these. You'd be surprised how much forethought needs to take place in order to keep concerned customers and the public at ease by using social media.

So, lots to think about and consider for tomorrow and today. Don't forget though about the role of technology. Press conferences and press releases used to be the only way to communicate with the public and your client base. These days, Youtube and sites like Vimeo has made video sharing so instant that putting a spokesperson on every computer screen in America with just a few minutes preparation time is 100 percent viable.
